It is known through research conducted by Dr. Susanne Talcott and his colleagues from Texas A & M University. Through this research note that mango contains polyphenolic compounds in this fruit has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects that may prevent the onset of chronic disease. 

In tests on mice, mango polyphenols suppress the growth of breast cancer tumors derived from the human body. Mango polyphenol content could reduce breast cancer cell growth by 90%. 

In addition to the content of polyphenolics, mango is rich in nutrients that are also good for the body. "Mangoes are also rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin B6, Viamin C, Vitamin E, flavonoids and potassium," added Talcott. 
So, there is no harm in eating this yellow fleshy fruit.
